Workspace settings

Name your workspace, set how measurements are shown, add your own logo, and control how long inactive tags stay in view. These general settings live on the General tab of your workspace settings and apply to everyone in the workspace.

Where to find them

In Blecon Track, open Settings and select the General tab. Changes take effect for the whole workspace once you save.

Name and description

  • Workspace name: The display name for this workspace, shown in the workspace switcher and throughout the app. Give each workspace a name that makes it clear what it tracks — a site, a team, or a customer.
  • Description: An optional line of context for your team. It doesn't affect behaviour; it's there to help people pick the right workspace.

Measurement units

Choose how distances and temperatures are displayed everywhere in the workspace:

  • Metric: meters and °C.
  • US / Imperial: feet and °F.

This is a display preference only — it changes how values are shown on the map, in trails, on asset details, and in alerts, without changing any stored data. It applies to the whole workspace, not per user.

Set a Logo URL pointing to an image (for example https://example.com/logo.png) to brand the workspace with your own logo. A preview appears once the URL loads so you can confirm the image resolves.

Workspace ID

Every workspace has a stable Workspace ID. It's shown read-only on the General tab and is the identifier you use when calling the API or referencing the workspace in integrations. Copy it from here rather than pulling it out of a browser URL.

Auto-archive

Auto-archive keeps your live view focused by automatically archiving tags that haven't reported for a while. Turn it on from the General tab and set an inactivity period (1–90 days, default 30); the check runs every hour.

Archived tags drop out of the asset list, map, and statistics but are never deleted — you can see them with the Archived filter, and any tag that reports a new position is unarchived automatically. See Assets for the full behaviour.
