Monitor zone capacity

Set up alert rules that trigger when a zone has too many or too few assets.

Prerequisites

  • A Blecon Track workspace with tracked tags
  • At least one zone configured with tags reporting positions inside it

Step 1: Create a zone asset count rule

  1. Go to Rules and click + Add Rule.
  2. Select Asset Count as the rule type.
  3. Choose the zone to monitor.
  4. Select the condition:
  5. Below: Alert when count drops below a minimum (e.g., "ER needs at least 5 wheelchairs").
  6. Above: Alert when count exceeds a maximum (e.g., "loading bay over capacity").
  7. Outside range: Alert when count is below a minimum or above a maximum.
  8. Set the threshold value.
  9. Click Create.

Step 2: Monitor across multiple zones with tags

To apply the same capacity rule to many zones:

  1. Tag all relevant zones with the same tag (e.g., parking).
  2. When creating the rule, select Zone Tags instead of a specific zone.
  3. Enter the tag. The rule evaluates each tagged zone independently.

Result

When a zone's asset count crosses the threshold, an alert appears. It clears automatically when the count returns to the acceptable range.
