Configure geofence alerts for a zone
Set up alert rules that trigger when tags enter or leave a specific zone.
Prerequisites
- A Blecon Track workspace with tracked tags
- At least one zone configured
Step 1: Identify the zone
- In Blecon Track, go to Zones.
- Find the zone you want to monitor (or create a new one).
- Note the zone name.
Step 2: Create a geofence entry rule
- Go to Rules and click + Add Rule.
- Select Zone Entry as the rule type.
- Choose your zone.
- Set the severity (e.g., High for restricted areas, Medium for general monitoring).
- Optionally set a minimum duration to avoid false triggers from brief passes through the boundary.
- Click Create.
Step 3: Create a geofence exit rule (optional)
Repeat the process with Zone Exit if you also want to know when tags leave the zone.
Step 4: Verify
Move a tag into the zone. Within a few minutes, an alert should appear in the alerts list.
