Integrate Juniper Mist access points

Use your existing Juniper Mist wireless infrastructure as Blecon tag scanners, with no additional hotspot hardware needed.

Prerequisites

  • A Blecon account (Enterprise tier)
  • Juniper Mist access points with BLE scanning enabled
  • A Mist API token with site-level access
  • Tags registered in Blecon

Step 1: Enable the integration in Blecon

  1. In the Console, go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Click Enable next to Juniper Mist.
  3. Enter your Mist API token.
  4. Select your Mist region (US or EU).
  5. Click Save.

Blecon automatically: - Discovers your Mist sites. - Creates webhooks on each site for BLE scan data. - Fetches AP positions from Mist floorplans.

Step 2: Verify tag detection

  1. Ensure your Blecon tags are powered on and broadcasting near Mist APs.
  2. In the Console, check that tags show updated Last Seen timestamps.

Step 3: Sync AP positions (optional)

If you update your Mist floorplans or add new APs:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Juniper Mist.
  2. Click Sync to refresh AP positions from Mist.

How it works

Mist APs passively scan BLE advertisements and forward scan data to the Blecon cloud via webhooks. Blecon extracts tag identifiers from the raw BLE data, matches them to registered tags, and creates spotted events that flow through the standard event pipeline.

Only tags already registered in Blecon are processed; unknown tag IDs are ignored.
