Monitor zone capacity
Set up alert rules that trigger when a zone has too many or too few assets.
Prerequisites
- A Blecon Track workspace with tracked devices
- At least one zone configured with devices reporting positions inside it
Step 1: Create a zone asset count rule
- Go to Alert Rules and click Create Rule.
- Select Zone Asset Count as the rule type.
- Choose the zone to monitor.
- Select the condition:
- Below — Alert when count drops below a minimum (e.g., "ER needs at least 5 wheelchairs").
- Above — Alert when count exceeds a maximum (e.g., "loading bay over capacity").
- Outside range — Alert when count is below a minimum or above a maximum.
- Set the threshold value.
- Click Create.
Step 2: Monitor across multiple zones with tags
To apply the same capacity rule to many zones:
- Tag all relevant zones with the same tag (e.g.,
parking). - When creating the rule, select Zone Tags instead of a specific zone.
- Enter the tag. The rule evaluates each tagged zone independently.
Result
When a zone's asset count crosses the threshold, a violation appears. It clears automatically when the count returns to the acceptable range.
