Registering devices using the Blecon Scanner

Registering a device in the field allows you to ship generic devices direct from manufacturing to customers and have them connect the device to the appropriate Blecon network themselves using a custom user experience workflow.

Steps to register a device

1. Obtain Device ID, using the Blecon Scanner

2. Complete registration using either the Blecon Console or the Blecon API from your custom registration handler page

Obtaining the Device ID using the Blecon Scanner

1. Using your smartphone, open the Blecon Scanner by clicking the Blecon Scanner link from the correct network page in the Blecon Console

2. If the device has a QR code, scan the code

3. If the device does not have a QR code, use the Identify functionality of the Blecon App.

Completing registration with the Blecon Console

1. Click Register Device in the Blecon Scanner

2. Follow the prompts in the Blecon Console to complete registration

Completing registration with a custom Registration Page

For production usage, you can create your own registration page. This will allow your customers to register devices using your own branded experience and your own login credentials. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
